Avoiding drugs and surgery has become the first and best option for many patients and an affordable and effective method for pain relief, injury recovery, and maintaining healthy joint movement.

Most professional sports leagues and teams employ chiropractors to help ensure their athletes maintain ideal strength, optimize performance, and reduce the chance of injury. Today chiropractors can be seen on staff at hospitals, multidisciplinary clinics, and in the Department of Veteran Affairs health care system. The demand for these services continues to grow among athletes, civilians, and military alike. Graduates from Campbellsville University School of Chiropractic will help fill the growing need for chiropractic care across all mentioned sectors.

Professional school is generally more time consuming as compared to undergraduate programs. There are no night classes available and little flexibility in your class schedule. Most semesters have anywhere between 25-30 hours per week of class time. The amount of time, as well as the intensity of study, would make it difficult to have a traditional full-time job.

With three start dates during the year, applications are accepted at any time with specific deadlines for each start date. The three start dates each year allow students flexibility regarding finishing undergraduate studies and any logistics with respect to moving, without a lengthy wait to begin the program.

 The deadline for the spring semester is December 15, the summer semester is April 1, and the fall semester deadline is July 15. However, if you are waiting for official transcripts to be transferred to the enrollment office and have your application submitted, by the deadline, a grace period is permitted.  

Campbellsville University offers multiple pathways for admission to our DC program. If you have completed at least 90 semester hours and have a cumulative GPA above a 2.75, you may apply for the DC program. Admission will be contingent upon review of course work and an interview. Students will complete their baccalaureate degree prior to graduation from the DC program. Apply now.

There are multiple housing options available. Students may decide to stay in traditional residence halls, rent a condo from Campbellsville University, or live off campus.

Class will start early – between 8-9 a.m. – and run all day. Generally, your school day will consist of approximately 6-8 hours of classes per day and end around 5-6 p.m. For this reason, it may be difficult to drive many hours a day. However, if you are dedicated and would like to reduce your housing expenses, you are free to live wherever you like. 

The program is 10 trimesters long and takes just a little over three years to complete. For example, students enrolling in January 2022 will plan to graduate in May 2025.

The Dean and faculty are hands on regarding academic advising. Each student will meet with an academic advisor each term to review progress and identify any needs. This hands-on approach is considered one of the most important components of the education you will receive at Campbellsville University’s School of Chiropractic.  

Absolutely, the department of clinical education will work closely with you to identify the right clerkship opportunities that best suits your professional goals. Dr. Dennis Short, Associate Vice President of Chiropractic Education, owns and operates Bluegrass Chiro, the largest chiropractic organization in Kentucky with 13 locations. He and other faculty are well connected within the profession across the state, as well as the country, and will facilitate myriad connections that help students like you succeed in your studies and your career. 

The Office of Clinical Education works closely with students as they approach graduation. Many students will have negotiated their first job during their last year of study, prior to graduation, making career transition seamless.
